I have a 2005 Subaru Outback. The ABS is too sensitive and will trigger going over bumps and snow. I drive other cars with ABS that aren't as sensitive. Changing tires, brakes and brake fluid hasn't helped.
A couple of times, I thought I was going to crash while stopping after hitting a bump in the road. You actually have no brakes for a moment or more. In the winter, unless I press the brakes like there's an egg under my foot, I can slide through a stop sign in the snow.
Anyone else here own a recent Subaru with this issue?
Did you disconnect the ABS?
Please don't respond if you don't own a Subaru.

I don't own a Subaru but I CAN tell you that you have a real problem which you need to take to an expert. Driving a car with the conditions you're describing is just asking for an accident. Actually I shouldn't say accident as when some drives a car they know to be unsafe then any wreck which results is Criminal not accidental.

The Subaru ABS system is very sensitive. I had problems before when I had tires with different tread depths, so be sure the make, model, and mileage are the same for all four.

If you truly want to disable the ABS, there's a fuse you can remove. I did that for a while on my 03 Forester until I could get my car into the shop. By the way, the culprit in my case was a damaged ABS sensor, damaged when my brother and I were working on one of the wheels. (dumb me).

Check your owner's manual or the cover to your fusebox.

Have the sensors ohmed and checked for air gap, rust will form under them creating an improper signal to the abs ecu. Beyond that it may be the tires. Find some ballsy snow tires and see if it makes a difference, the all seasons that come with the car wont do anything.

Take it to the dealer the ABS should not be doing that, it should be covered under warranty.
