It has happened to me a few times now with in the last couple of months! The first time it was like I just sat up real quick and my husband just happened to have been walking in the room, I remember calling his name several times for him to come here and when he finally came over I hugged him told him I loved him and gave him a kiss on the neck, then I just flopped back down on the bed and fell asleep again! Now I don't remember doing all that I only remember telling him to come here and that I loved him, he told me the rest! Then last night I remember waking up feeling like i couldn't breathe and I tried to wake my husband calling his name several times and tapping him on the back, then i just fell back asleep! It kinda almost feels like when this happens that its not really me I'm just there!

Could be nightterrors or just a regular nightmare.
since it happens frequently, you may want to talk to your doctor about the incident and he can help you figure out which it is. Night terrors are panic attack is the NREM or non rapid eye movement stage, and this means you can move around and interact while being in a sleep state, sort of like sleep walking.

thats not really a panic attack, because there happening if you notice at night, panic attacks happen anytime any where, not just at night... trust me i know all about panic attacks, been there done that, it plays like your having a heart attack, i had to learn copping skills, and one was, you have to ask yourself why is this happening? why am i feeling this way? then at night, put some headphones on play music like... the ocean, relaxing music, stuff that relaxs you.... maybe your just stressed out... try breathing skills slow in and out, clear your mind... if you see a doctor, chances are, he is going to put you on Paxle... trust me you dont need that... give yourself time...

Yep, many people have occasional panic attacks like that.

Look at your life and find out what is stressing you. Do something about the stress and the panic attacks should go away.

Yes, it happens to me on occasion.

Usually in the fall when my allergies are at their worst. Usually some ice cold water (or better yet carbonated water) helps me and I can fall asleep again.

for a while I had them so bad that my husband wanted to call 911 because he thought I was having a heart attack. Now I take Lexapro for it and it's been a godsend.
