Er, no. He respects me and I'm allowed to talk back to him. I am his wife and not his child.

No my husband has not swatted me with a paint stick for talking back. If he tried he would not be here today. Next time tell him to paint a picture on it.

Once someone in a realtionship hits or does anything to do with causing harm to the other person the realationship is already tainted.and no if my husabnd did it kiddingly id laugh but if he did it to hurt me for talking back id make it a point to tell him if he ever layed a hand on me again i would leave him and that im not a 6 year old IM HIS WIFE.Im sorry your husband thinks he's so superior over you that he can do that he must have thought it was okay to hit a women for talking back.Put ice on it and stay off your butt.Im sorry hes a jerk.

This is abuse. You are allowed to speak, and you are allowed to disagree with your husband. He is NOT allowed to hit you for it. And in case you're wondering, "swatting" you with a paint stick IS hitting.
If you stay, it will only get worse. Get yourself some counseling NOW so you can be prepared to make whatever choices you need to make.
