PV = nRT

Same volume after pumping, same temperature after cooling down, but more moles and therefore high pressure.

More simply; more gas, more molecules bouncing off the walls, more pressure.

Higher temperature, faster moving molecules, more impact on each bounce (and, if you think about it, more bounces), more pressure. (Or, if you like the equation, increasing T means you increase P)

Just feel a pneumatic tyre and a solid tyre. The solid tyre cannot flex round obstacles as easily.
