find the measure of the remaining angle of each of the following figures given the measures of the other interior angles:
A: Quadrilateral: 42, 75 and 118
B:Pentagon: 116, 138, 94, 88
C:Hexagon: 95, 154, 80, 145, 76

If you give me the answer, please explain in detail how you got it, I have a mathematical diasbility and this is all really confusing. Thank you.

A quadrilateral shape has 360 deg as the total sum of it's angles, a pentagon 540 degs and a hexagon 720 degs. So the way to calculate the missing angle is to take away the sum of those you have from the total. So:-

1/
42 + 75 + 118 = 235
360 - 235 = 125

2/
116 +138 + 94 + 88 = 436
540 - 436 = 104

3/
95 + 154 + 80 + 145 + 76 = 550
720 - 550 = 170

angles in a quad. add up to 360

360- 235 (42+75+118) = 125

angles in a pentagon add up to 540

so 540-436 (116+138+94+88) = 104

angles in a hexagon add up to 720

so 720- 550 (95+154+80+145+76) =170

so for every shape all of the interior angle must add up to a certain amount. your book should tell you what it is for each of the shapes. Then you just have to add the angles given and subtract that sum from the amount in your book and you have your remaining angle.

Example: Quadrilateral: 42, 75, and 118
They have to add to 360...so
42 + 75 + 118 = 235
360 - 235 = 125
so, the remaining angle is 125 degrees

not sure about the pentagon

i think the degrees are equal to 90deg. per corner and then i subtracted the degrees that already known
