I NEVER believed in Santa Claus.
My parents used to complain about how much it all costs every year and I used to say to myself "if Santa is bringing presents, then why is it costing money?"
Secondly, the writing on all the presents used to have the exact same handwriting on it as my mother.... weird, right?
Not so much when you realize that your mother is actually signing them it's not. Oh yeah, she'd try and tell us kids that Santa just left the presents and she was left to wrap them all.
I never fell for it.
Next, I'd wait up all night every year and never heard or saw him at all.
I *did* however hear my parents dragging all the stuff out of the closets, wrap them, and all the while bitching and cursing and complaining about it the whole time.
Then they'd go to bed and us kids would then sneak out and "miraculously" there would be all the presents under the tree. Yeah, not such a miracle, is it?
My parents tried in vain to make us believe in Santa but we always knew he wasn't real.
Now "Dr. Doolittle"?? *That* was another story!! I believed in him completely! I was completely and utterly devastated to learn the *he* didn't exist! I still cry about till this day.

The night I heard Santa yell "damn it, I'll never get this put together". I got up to look and Santa was my dad trying to assemble a bike! I was about 9 (I already had an idea).

Around 5 or 6. Our father went out in the yard at night and fired off a .44 Magnum then came back in and told us that he just killed him.

I don't remember how old I was.
I do remember that I pretended to believe in him until I was about 16 years old. I did that to make my parents happy - I thought they wanted me to believe in Santa. ;o)

i think i was 11, yeah it took me that long. but it was one Christmas when my mom didn't have much money and we spend Christmas with our whole family cousins and stuff and we (my siblings and I) only got gifts from our grandparents and one from each of our Tia's. My cousins had gifts that said "FROM: SANTA" I was really sad about it, but i didn't cry, i didn't want my lil' sisters to be to sad so i just told them we had to wait till we go to our house.
