This is absolutely normal. The sound is not coming from the bricks. It comes from the mortar between the bricks and is caused when they flex due to temperature or humidity changes. Although most people describe the sound as Ha-Ha-Ha. ;-)

I've worked for attorneys for many years (off and on for over three decades now). None of them has spent much time looking at brick walls and to my knowledge, none of of them hears "wa-wa" noises in their brains so I doubt that it's normal.
That being said, this did appear in one of our local papers this past week:
Attorney: Doctor, before you performed the autopsy, did you check for a pulse?
Witness: No.
Attorney: Did you check for blood pressure?
Witness: No.
Attorney: So, then it is possible that the patient was alive when you began the autopsy?
Witness: No.
Attorney: How can you be so sure, Doctor?
Witness: Because his brain was sitting on my desk in a jar.
Attorney: But could the patient have been alive, nevertheless?
Witness: Yes, it is possible that he could have been alive and practicing law.

With no real offense; but perhaps related to both the fact that your name implies Attorney, AND from MI; I suspect you might also hear "voices" that haunt you.
I won't assume this is serious in the sense that it's a DIY Q; but certainly it could be; on a personal level; medically speaking.
ADDED thought: Obviously some take you seriously...sigh. I have to wonder however; when the last time was; that I heard an Attorney say "WERE LIKE"

Could be anything. High blood pressure, tinnitus, your pulse.
Vision is a strange thing also. Your eyes do not focus in one spot, they flit around, so the movement you saw was just your eyes continually refocusing. (its actually a lot more complex than that, but that's the gist of it).
Your experiences are normal and happen to us all.

if you were just concentrating on the wall, and there was little noise around you, there is a good chance you were hearing your own pulse inside your inner ear. happens to me on occasion as well.
