Ever since I installed my printer, Norton Internet Security has bringing up a security alert saying Windows Subsystem is attempting to access the internet. I press permit, but it keeps on popping up.
What is Windows Subsystem and what do I do to make this stop happening?

My printer isn't connected to my computer, it is shared with the 2 computers through the router in my house.

In my spare time I test all antivirus and antispyware software as a beta tester. Nortons is pure junk and is only good at smart marketing skills. Resource hog and not good at finding or destroying a virus. Plus when you go to remove you are left with over 375 fragments of Nortons glued to your registry, files and folders that will cause serious conflict.

Check out what I use for a one time fee for life of $29.99 Trojan Twister Antivirus, Beijing, China. You get daily auto. updates and all new versions free for life. Never had one virus in over ten years. Excellent support which is hard to find these days. Direct for the developers. http://www.filseclab.com

Or you can install an excellent free antivirus program. Avast, with on the hour auto. updates an a really good background scanner http://www.avast.com

All of your hidden files are in your subsystem. The norm, nothing is ever fixed when you run Nortons.

Hi. This forum discusses possible fixes. http://antionline.com/archive/index.php/t-232863.html
Your printer may be trying to connect for reasons unknown to me. Try disconnecting the printer to see if the problem goes away. If so I would guess the printer is looking for a driver update. Try that next. Good luck!
