I know I have emails I havent answered, I am sure I have answered some twice, perhaps more than that. I am bad at the best of times, once I get on demerol and antibiotics I have NO idea who I have answered, who I havent.

With the system Yahoo has of clicking on "reply to this message" there is no "record" in the sent folder for people like me to look at -

Then I start to worry that people are going to think I'm not very nice or very friendly because I dont answer - and when I am trying to get to sleep and its already 3 AM I will suddenly think "did I answer ---?"

At least when you arent using the Yahoo message system you also get a little green arrow showing a reply was sent -- they could use a different system IMO.

I love getting the email but we need a better system - or at least I do.

Yahoo does have a little blue arrow that shows up on the side of the email designation when you have already replied to it!

Besides, I made myself a bunch of folders and I slot my original email and my reply into those folders either by subject or by person.

It goes like this...I click onto the original email and write my reply and send it. The yahoo system takes me to a page that allows me to move the original email to your choice of folder. I use that feature to put the original email into it's proper folder. Then when I have finished all of my incoming email, and I am cleaning out my "sent" folder, I move those emails into their proper folders as well.

So I end up with nothing in my in folder, and nothing in my sent folder. And all my emails filed away into their proper folders.

Edit...Not scary, honey...but definitely able to find the pertinent letter when I am searching for an email with a certain reference in it.

After I read an e-mail and answer it, I either 'delete' the e-mail or 'save' it in a file. That way it's easier to read the new ones and see who I need to answer. I also set my options to 'save' a copy of the 'sent' e-mails. If I didn't do these things, I'd never remember who I answered either. Hope you can get yours set up to make it easier for you.

I'm sorry you're having problems. You must get a lot of email. I only have six people that I email back and forth to. Only one of them emails me a lot. I am so happy to get mail I answer right away. When I answer, I delete. If it is not deleted I know I need to answer. You could take notes if you can't always answer right away.

If I don't delete the message after I've replied to it, there is a little arrow indicating that when I look at my inbox. That's what I usually go by.
