How unattractive is a big nose on a girl?

I have a very large nose that I feel ruins my appearance. I think I am otherwise attractive, thin, long blonde hair, and my face looks good from the front. But my profile is absolutely horrendous. My nose is very large and pointy, I've been in school or at a restaurant and heard and seen people commenting on it. Don't tell me I'm paranoid, I used to walk down the hall at school and random morons would say "**** that's a big nose"

The thing is, lots of people still call me hot and attractive. I sorta look like Christina Aguilera (with less makeup and a larger nose) but I just don't see how I can have nose this big AND still be attractive. How much affect does a bad nose have on someone's appearance?

Well, speaking as a guy:
1. It varies quite a lot, as others have pointed out;
2. It's not so much the size, anyway - shape and etc. are also very important;
3. Pretty eyes and a pretty smile (and a nice shape) count for a whole lot more than any individual feature;
4. The most perfectly beautiful girl in the world would still be able to find some horrible flaw that nobody else could see.
5. It really doesn't matter how you look, some bozos will still be able to find or invent something nasty about you if they so desire, so comments from jerks should be taken with a grain of salt. Consider the source..
And finally, things that some people find displeasing other people find incredibly sexy. So the odds are that you don't really need to worry about it. However, if it really bothers you to the point that it affects how you deal with people (more than is usual for most of us who are grossly self-conscious, ourselves), then why not look into cosmetic surgery? Even if you can't afford it yet, you'll have more information to think about.

Nose jobs are so much more inexpensive these days. You may only need to get the tip of your nose worked on, which is really cheap.

Save your money and set a goal to get a nose job. I have always been self-conscious about my nose, and any day now, I'm going to get a nose job.

My friends & family love my nose, but I'd love it even more if I just got rid of the pointed end. I know how you feel.

Whether it's too big or not on you, just get it fixed like you want it one day. You'll be happy and even more beautiful.

I have a big nose,not a very big nose,but i dislike it very much.I think that if you dislike you nose then maybe you should have surgery,but if you can live with it then don't.I am getting surgery when i am 18 because i think that i would look better with a smaller nose.

Some people don't notice noses at all and just look at a persons face as a whole.and sometimes a nose can add character.some models have larger noses but it makes them look different and unique.

if you are happy with the way you look,or not,who cares what other people think?

It depends. If you have big eyes, big mouth, and a big face, the nose will not look so out of proportion. But if you generally have small features, like slanted eyes for example, the nose might “ruin” your appearance a bit. So try making your eyes and mouth larger-looking with makeup?

Well, it depends. I mean, look at some big name stars today with slightly large noses. Look at Ashley Siimpson, she looked much better before her nose job. I think they aren't that bad, but a picture would help to see exactly what we're talking about. :]

i also have a big pointy nose. it doesn't bother me. in my opinion i think it makes a woman look smart. in a guy, kinda tough, like the wwe wrestler Triple H. look at his pic, hes gorgeous! sometimes i find myself attracted to guys with a big nose now. in the Kamasutra book they say there is something special about a girl with a big pointy nose. but i cant say on here. check it out!!

really,i think it depends on the person-sometimes,a big nose is what distinguishes a person from everyone else.people will say a lot of cruel things,but they have many reasons for doing this:jealousy,insecurity,their own personal unhappiness and wanting to inflict it upon others.if you are still being called hot and attractive by many people,just chalk it up to everyone having their own preferences-some people like red,others like blue,etc...surgery is always an option if you are an adult,but why?unless its really keeping you from enjoying your life,why put yourself through that,just so a few more people will think you are pretty-besides-remember jennifer grey from dirty dancing?she got a nose job and her career died,because she was unrecognizable!besides,i know its hard(for me too)but we gotta stop feeling like we are flawed if we aren't perfect,and just learn to be content with what we got and focus on more important stuff-believe me,in this society,we got tons of other issues we really would be better served dealing with,instead of obsessing over looks.its hard,but try to put yourself above it.there are lots of attractive people with big noses-but i think it has more to do with their great personality showing through that makes them attractive and the 'big' nose makes them approachable and easier to relate to than one of the 'beautiful people'-and in the end,that's all makeup and lighting and airbrushing anyway.

i think you should just be happy, its what makes you unique,
there will never ever be another you, so why would you want to change yourself to look like someone else. A girl i know is so beautiful but she has a big nose and she has learned to accept it. she loves herself now i cant get her to stop talking about herself!

I don't think it effects your appearance that much. My family was eating at a restaurant and one of the waitresses had the biggest nose, but my brother thought she was the hottest.

noses play a huge part in how attractive a person is. that's just my opinion though. i know a couple people who would be SO pretty if they just had a better nose.
