It will never work because instead of all of you arguing who is going to play in the title game you would be arguing who they last team in the playoff system should be. Its never going to change and I like it the way it is because everygame is a playoff game

No a playoff system is used in every other division besides 1A the playoff system works the only thing that stands in the way of the playoff system is people being stubborn. There will be a change and it probably wont happen after this year but it will be within the next 5 years. we all know that OU shouldnt have played LSU in 03 and Auburn should have played USC in 04 so this year if Georgia goes to the championship game without even playing in a championship game that is rewarding to a team that lost enough games to be #2 in their division bet get a shot at being #1 overall, thats just stupid

so the LSU vs Georgia game was a playoff game? wait.. didn't happen.. we'll never get to know for sure which one is better.. how about Hawaii? are they trully able to compete with the big boys?.. the BCS formula has turned into nothing more than who ESPN thinks should be there.. look at it this way.. Div II has regional rankings based similar to the BCS.. SoS and all that tie in.. they get ranked.. then have regional playoffs winner of the 4 regions moves on to the Semi-Finals and Championship games.. it's a 24 team field.. they play 10 game reg seasons and up to 4 tourney games.. which is.. 14 games.. no more than what Div I plays.. all of the retarded discussion about classes and length of the season doesn't wash because it's the same.. it's all about money in Div I.. give me a playoff any day over the crap we have now

I think you're going to be in the minority for your viewpoint, but for the main part, I agree with you.
I can see the arguments for a playoff, but let's face it, reluctance and dollars will get in the way. Plus, as you say, teams will only complain if they don't get into the playoff when they would feel justified in being there.
Despite all the flaws of the BCS and the constant moaning by a lot of people on here, I've enjoyed the season. And if future seasons are like this one, I'll be happy.

A 16 team playoff will work well. 11 conference champions get in automatically, and we have 5 at-large bids just like the basketball tourney. Although there will be teams that will be on the outside looking in. But all I'd tell them is "Win your conference and you're in" D-1A football is the only sport that the NCAA doesn't recognize having a national champ, a playoff would change that.

It would be the best thing to happen to NCAAF. Just look at the Big Dance in college basketball, and all the interest it generates, with much less controversy. I could envision something like an 8 team, 3 round bracket comprised of the top 8 ranked teams.

No system in D-I college football will ever be "fair" but it will be more fair than the current one. It's just like the NCAA tournament, everybody on the bubble who gets left out of the final spots have a beef. So just because everyone won't be happy doesn't matter, it would be more fair. PERIOD!

its not going to work because the college presidents wont allow it to work. The BCS would give you the top 8 teams and you can tweak it every year, but it would give you a genuine champion. Every other sport (college and pro) has one, except Division I college football and its never going to change, but it would be really nice to see.

Well, you're in the minority...The BCS sucks...It should be a playoff based on AP and Coaches Polls...(Coaches can't vote for their own team)...
