Im Roman Catholic and my boyfriend is Muslim. We dont feel the need to convert eachother because we respect eachothers beliefs and dont feel a change is necessary for our bond to be as strong as it is.

Does the old saying "You can lead animals to water, but you can't make them drink" mean anything to you? In this case, it means 'don't try to change someones belief system if it's working for them.' That would be like me-- an Elementalist-- trying to turn a Christian over to Elementalism. Let's use you as an example...

Would you want me to try to convince you that my belief structure in Elementalism is completely right and that your belief in Christianity is completely wrong? Would you ever even want me to try? No, of course you wouldn't... that would be offensive to you, would it not? Maybe even so much so, that my pushing my religious beliefs onto you could even lead to the complete dissolution of what would be an otherwise great friendship over a personal belief, wouldn't you agree?

The short-hand version of this is that you should just let your friend have his beliefs-- or lack thereof-- and you can have yours. If religion isn't an issue in a relationship, there's no reason for argument and no reason for distrust...

But if your friend there, left you based solely on the reason that you're Christian, then your friend needs to wake up and see that his answer to things isn't everyones answer to the same question or scenario. And besides, there are plenty of people in the world who would be more than willing to go to church with you. Consider joining a Christian dating site, that takes out a lot of the guess work... it worked for my mom (even though I think the guy she married is a total nit-wit).

..... I don't know how much this answer helps, but here it is. Have fun.

Well. first of all, you shouldn't really TELL people that you are a christian, they should be able to tell YOU that you are a christian, because Gods love and holy spirit will be shining through you.

THE QUESTION:

In order to lead someone to the lord, they have to be interested, right? Because it's a choice that they have to make. Now if you pour God's love into someones life, they are going to wonder "How do you do that?" and you simply reply and say that God is your resource to all this wonderful love.

I think by loving someone with God's unconditional love, they will become interested.

I'm an Atheist, but I think you should be allowed to follow whatever faith you like - just so long as you don't try to convert me (which would fail by the way). If I discovered a girl I was dating was a serious Christian, and she hadn't told me early in the dating, I would leave her immediately - I find it a huge turn-off. Sorry to be harsh, but I've had some appallingly bad experiences related to religion and dating.

If he leaves you because you are a christian, then hopefully someday he will see the light that will lead him to salvation. You can try to lead him to the Lord by showing him the light by acting as Christ would act, show him that true happiness comes from helping others and loving one another. Through your example may he see the Way, the Truth and the Light

First keep being a Christan. Either he will eventually start being a Christan by watching you and showing him by example or not. If he leaves you for the simple fact that you are a Christan then he never loved you anyway. He can still be a wonderful man. A person needs to search their soul of what they want in life if it bothers you to much. Adios amigos.

Be not unequally yoked with unbelievers

their hearts have to be prepared by the Holy Spirit and so does yours~God has to work with both sides and trying to convert him so you can have a relationship is not what it is all about
pray for direction by the Holy Spirit and don't waste your time trying to get things to go your way

If he left you because you are a Christian, thank God!Because you were unequally yoked according to the bible. Because Jesus said whoever is not for him is against him. The bible also says that if the husband or wife is unsaved and leaves, let them go.So be careful who you give your love to in the future.

my husband is christian, and I am muslim. we have no problems because we each respect the other's beliefs. he has no need to convert me to worship 'the lord' when he knows I already worship God and God alone. I have no need to try and convert him to Islam because I know God will sort our differences in the end,.

If he left me because of my beliefs, then I hope he will be happy. I don't "need" him, I just kinda like him around.
