Its our first day of snow this year where I live, and I was sjust looking at the sky and wondering why it was white while it snowed, blue while its sunny, and a dark shade of any blue or any color while it stormed...

The sky appears to be blue when there are no clouds because the atmosphere absorbs the infrared range of the light spectrum while blue is reflected.
When thin clouds condenses, it appears to be white because the water droplets block the entire spectrum of the light. If the cloud is tick enough, it appears to be darker grey because there isn't enough surrounding light to illuminate the cloud from under.
When it snows, the sky appears to be white because what you see is no longer the clouds but the falling snow itself.

snow is white and its not just near the ground its every where. they sky is blue when there aren't any clouds. thick clouds aren't blue there black. it has to do with the way the sun reflects off of stuff
