3x -15x +54 = 18
-12x = -36
x = 3
y = -5(3) +18 = 3

3x + 3(-5x+18) = 18
3x-15x+54=18
-12x=-36
x=3

So 3(3)+3y=18
9+3y=18
3y=9
y=3
