Hello, I was wondering if the Macbook would be a good Christmas present for me to get. I am a student and I have to do a lot of papers and projects on the computer, I LOVE to do photoshop/ & paintshop pro, I listen to music 24/7 when I am on the computer, and I love Macs. Do you think the price of a Macbook is worth my parents getting me one for Christmas? I have been using my moms old Dell for the past 2 years and I really need a new laptop and since I love Macs, I decided I wanted a Macbook. Besides, Im turning 15 soon and I will most likely need it in highschool.

The Macbook Pro is an excellent choice, especially if you can get them to spring for one.

Hi, I think u just picked a laptop for ur self that it perfect for u. A Macbook is an excellent choice for u. From ur description u don't mention anything about games so I doubt u r a gamer so u won't need Windows. Mac OS X Leopard is an excellent operating system and u will have some of the best software in the world for multimedia in front of u when u use Leopard. If u have any questions about OS X then just ask anyone here, or me if u want, but most of the questions u will need answered can be done by asking in an Apple store.
Good Luck and take care!

If you parents are into paying 1000 dollars for a gift, but I don't know of too many parents that would spend that much on a gift. You can get a windows model computer, a whole lot less.

If your concerned about the whole Vista issue, within the new year, microsoft will be allowing the computer companies to be selling computers with XP installed on them.

I guess but roughly 3 grand for the pro and roughly 2 grand for a standard is a bit much for a school laptop, I would go with a cheaper PC to be honest just in case you break it or lose it at school.

Macs aren't the best computers. My dad works with computers and he says they aren't great computers, plus they are expensive. I would ask for a different kind of computer. I have a Toshiba and love it!
