I was messing around and searched on 'sex' - nothing outrageous I know, but I'd be embarrassed if my flatmate saw! Now whenever you type 's' into google it pops up as the word you might be going to type in! How can you clear that drop down list?!

Glenn F - isn't that exactly what I just did admit? Just rather my flatmate didn't know :-)

This is an auto-complete function. Depending on the browser that you are using, you can turn it off and delete the auto-complete history.

Internet Explorer 6:
Go to Tools --> Internet Options.
Select the "Content" tab and click on the "AutoComplete" button.
Then click on the "Clear Forms" button and that will delete the history.

Firefox 2 and Netscape 9:
press Ctrl + Shift + Del and select "Saved form and search history" and click on "Clear Private Data Now" button.

Here is my top google clear search tip for you...click in to your google search...click the last search.....use the back arrow so the cursor is at the beginning of the word..then hold down the down arrow and at the same time press Del key till all history is gone.and will work this way in all searches
or you can hover your cursor on single letters once selected then delete.
or see below

If you are searching from a google toolbar, when you type in the box and all the suggestions pop-up at the bottom is a clear history button. just click it.

Start
Control Panel
Network & Internet
Internet Options
Delete Browsing History......

...BUT, this will delete all searches, and clear the Internet Exporer address bar. I think this looks more odd than posssibly noticing you have searched for 'sex'. Why not go and search for 'Sextent', 'Sexing Cats', or other such things, beginning 'sex...', so then, they will show up also, and your 'sex' search could have been a finger slip! lol

Download a free program called Ccleaner and run that, it clears all the history and even removes unwanted old files stored on your pc which uses hard disk space. Works like a b0mb.. :)
