My ex and I bought a house close to his Military base, and after 6 weeks of being there,he cheated on me with some girl he met online, then took off. Leaving me with the house and all. I got him to pay for half of the house payment for a year until I get back on my feet. Now when he gets mad,he says well I don't have to pay,or if I date,he thinks he doesn't have to pay. This month he hasn't even paid it yet and it was due on the 1st on NOV! So he is already a month behind. Does he think he is GOD? I mean he is a control freak as it is,but will I be able to do something about it seriously? Someone said go to I.G? Is that right? What rights do I have without spending alot of money I don;t have on lawyers. We already have the court papers.

Thank you

if it was established in court that he pay X amount, than he has to. you can file for a contempt of court since he is violating a court order.
you don't need a lawyer to do this either. the court clerk will help you fill out the paperwork. just bring the order with you.
good luck!

I don't know who you would contact on base to have it taken out of his pay automatically whether he wants it or not but go to legal aid in your area and you should be able to get an attorney at no cost to you to handle that for you. You have the court papers and so it should only be a question of who to send a copy to on his military base.

The court has ordered he pays.....he pays when the court says he does...not when he feels like it. Not paying as per court order put him in violation of the court order-he's breaking the law....and he can't put any stipulation on if and when he pays so if it's not in the court order that he can stop paying if you date ( I doubt it!), then find out where & who to file your complaint of non-compliance of the court order and do it! If you can go thru the military to do so, then do it....they can help you out....

Report him to his commander. My sister had trouble with her ex paying child support. She called his commander and one call was all it took. The Army garnishes his check and direct deposits it to my sister. The Army took it upon themselves to do it, she didn't have to go through child support enforcement.
