Personally, I have no problem with anyone over 50; I have been with guys over 50 and enjoyed it. I have met some women in their 50's, or even 60, who were very smexy indeed! It isn't about age, it's more about keeping a youthful attitude that shines through regardless of what your outward appearance is.
If we met, and really clicked, I would have no problem snogging you, and neither would my wife (we're both bi)! I certainly don't mind the odd wrinkle or two.
As far as idea(r)s, just keep looking, the internet is a great boon to finding likeminded friends (and lovers). There's a lot of fake people, and users, and what have you, but good people too, so try to be patient.
OTOH, you're not getting any younger, are you...? LOL Just kidding! You'll find people out there, including other 60 somethings, perhaps.

well i am not sure what to tell you since i am not 1-a lesbian or 2-over 50 ... but i can tell you that society looks at the elderly in a respectable way and since snogging is not seen as a respectable thing that is why it is looked down upon for elderly people to snog one another in public (i am assuming that by snogging you mean kissing, im sorry i am not familiar with british slang that much)

Go with your feelings and enjoy that snog. So long as you and your partner are in agreement about it then you are harming nobody and it is nobody else's business
