My boys will be getting these for Christmas, I just don't want them to not be able to use them because they don't have everything they need.

i have just bought one - literally two days ago. it comes with a usb lead to connect to your computer. this charges it up and allows you to transfer music etc to it.
you MUST have the internet on the computer you will be using with it as if you don't you have to mess about downloading the software for it. if you don't have internet on your own computer (like me) i went to my local library and went on the apple itunes website n downloaded the right software for it - it's called itunes75setup although i can't remember how i found it - sorry.
it charges up through the usb lead so you don't need a mains charger (unless you want to buy one), it comes with its own headphones.
hope it helps - i dunno about itunes vouchers cos i havnt used them yet - i've just transfered music from my cds onto my ipod.

When you buy the iPod (from a store, I assume), they'll give you everything you need TO START OFF WITH. You get the iPod and the USB cord, which is all you need.
You'll have to install iTunes to your computer, but just go to http://www.apple.com . It's pretty easy and self-explanatory.
Now, of course, there's always a few things that you don't need for it to work, but you just want it because it makes life easier (and cooler!) I recommend getting a case for the iPod as they ADORE scratches =S Also, there's a starter kit at WalMart for like $20 that comes with a wall charger, a car charger, and I think another USB cord. That's great as well.
And that's about it! =D Good luck, I'm sure your boys will be thrilled.

If you download lime wire or any other music down loader you can get music for free. If they are video ipods (or the nano) you have to search .mp4 or ipod compatible in the video file... caution, there is some disgusting stuff on there so i would suggest doing the downloading for them. You can always buy videos, music, and games on itunes (witch you can also download)

Seeing as iPods charge on computers I suggest you buy an adapter to plug it into an outlet for when you go on trips or you're not able to use your computer.

i tunes cd but shud come with that
a lead from comp to ipod but that shud also be included
and ipod sock to stop it gettin scratched
earphones.. also included i think
a charger for the mains for when u dont have your comp

it has everything you need but theres always extra stuff you can buy for it like skins and the stereo but it will have the main stuff that u need
