If you allow Muslims time off for prayer, you have to allow everybody else of whatever religious belief time off for prayer. Believe me, there are plenty of Christian religious holidays which are holidays in Europe. We do not traditionally take those holidays in the United States. I think it would be crazy to have businesses honor all of those Christian holidays, and I see no reason why we should honor holidays of other religions either.

I think it is best to use purely and economic and secular approach as to who may be permitted to do what. If you want to work for a company, you should abide by the work rules set up by your employer or look for a job somewhere else.

This will never be considered. it is a religous issue and not a legal one. The employer is the one that determines if a muslim can take an hour off on Fridays. Since it is only a hour a week, most employers will general ok this request. Most employers will work for with individuals to accomidate their religious practices as long as everyone is allowed to have and express their religious faiths.

No. This isn't a Muslim country. Americans have both freedom of religion and freedom from religion. Muslims will have to choose whether to work and obey their employer or risk leaving to prayer and lose their job or pay. Employers are not and should not be made to be obligated to pay people or release people for religious reasons. Work is not a religious organization and there is no reason to single these people out and give them special priviledges.

We already have a law allowing us to take 30-60 minutes off work everyday. This is intended to be a meal break, but we are not required to eat and are allowed to use the time for something else.

100% no. Government should not interfere into what is a private religious manner. We should not allow the government to constantly babysit us for decisions like this. Its logical and personal.... no two situations or devotions to religion are the same.

No, we are a Judeu/Christian nation. If the Muslims don't like living in the U.S., then they should go to a different country.
