Which do you prefer? I liked Firefox at first but it's been crashing a lot lately.

I use Firefox every day all day. I refuse to even open Internet Explorer. If the browser is crashing, there's likely another issue with the computer, possibly a virus or spyware.

Firefox does not have the HUGE amount of security problems IE does, and is therefore more secure against virus's and spyware (more secure - not TOTALLY secure).

I have installed Firefox on hundreds of computers, and never had a crashing problem that wasn't caused by some other OS issue.

Check your computer for virus's and spyware - go to www.grisoft.com and download the trial version of AVG Antimalware, install it, update it, run scans, remove whatever it might find, then uninstall it. Do the same with Spybot Search and Destroy (free), and AdAware 2007 Personal (free).

Hope that helps.

Jason

Most people tend to prefer Firefox because it's supposed to be more secure.

Personally, I'm a fan of Internet Explorer 7, maybe out of habit though. I do know that people have complained of having problems with it, but you'll get spyware and viruses with Firefox just as well if you go to the wrong websites. So long as your computer is well-protected (firewall, anti-spyware, antivirus software), IE7 and Firefox become essentially the same and it becomes a stylistic preference.

On the other hand, if you ARE the kind of person who is prone to using spyware-filled websites (the most common being pornography, warez, or mp3 downloading sites), FIrefox might be a slightly safer bet.

Firefox, for everything but Microsoft Updates.

If your PC is crashing, it's not Firefox, it's malware.

Use the Discover Tab here to learn more about malware.

Firefox, because it more stable than IE.
and it's lighter than IE, less resources using.
and if it's been crashing that means you have a problem with your Operating System, and i siggest you to contact firefox technical support, or just reinstall a fresh copy of the OS.
