This Malware box popped up in my screen and it offered to remove viruses from my computer. Supposedly, Malware found viruses in some of my files, but when Malware asked my if I wanted the viruses removed, I canceled the whole operation because I am not sure of the good intentions of this program. Please tell me if you know anything about it.
Thanks

If you received a popup like that, it's trying to get you to install it, which will cause you more problems than it "might" solve. You should only install security software from trusted sources. If you don't have security software installed, here are some recommendations from available freeware:

firewall:
Comodo (http://www.comodo.com), or
PC Tools (http://www.pctools.com/firewall)
Comodo recently released version 3.0 of its firewall, which adds an intrusion prevention component that's very effectively, though it does take time for it to learn your system, and requires some ongoing attention by the user to make sure programs don't get improperly block. Comodo is one of the strongest firewalls available, freeware or commercial, according to the independent testing site matousec.com.

antivirus: (listed in order of preference)
Avira (http://www.free-av.com)
AVAST! Home (http://www.avast.com)
AVG (http://free.grisoft.com)
all provide realtime protection and automatic updates; all have ICSA and VB100 certification, but Avira has been among the highest rated in tests by several respected US and UK computer publications.

antispyware:
Spyware Terminator (http://www.SpywareTerminator.com) or
Spyware Doctor (http://pack.google.com)
either one will give you good, realtime protection, along with
Ad-Aware Free (http://www.lavasoftusa.com) and
Spybot S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org) for additional removal ability.

If you were able to restart your computer, and the Moneypak virus didn't IMMEDIATELY take over the whole screen, I believe that it should be gone. I have yet to tackle this virus personally, but I will be doing so this weekend on a family member's computer. I will be using a copy of Malwarebytes that I downloaded today. I do know that most removal instructions say to first restart the computer in Safe Mode with networking, and then do a system restore. After that, you need to run a malware program to remove the virus completely. The malware program varies depending on the source of the instructions. When you are done, make sure you have both an Antivirus and a Firewall installed and running, and they are up to date. You should also ensure that you have current backups of all your personal files. Also, don't be afraid to use another product to scan for virus or malware, but you should only leave 1 running at a time to avoid problems.

If "Malware", popped up on your screen, it is a scam and you have a virus or spyware in your system. I suggest that you run your antivirus indepth and same for your antispyware indepth.

Nothing good just pops up on your screen out of the clear blue sky.

You can download Superantispware free version as this program will find trojans and spyware that is usually missed by all other programs. (No conflict with your existing spyware or antivirus software). Plus you will get auto. updates daily.

http://www.superantispyware com Advise to you is to install and run an indepth scan of your entire system. If you have a trojan spyware, this program will find and destroy it for you. (Some real nasty ones required that you reboot).

This sounds like malware... malware as in a NASTY program that tries to scare you into buying their products.

Try uninstalling it in ad/remove programs in control panel. If that doesn't work, you will need smitfraud and/or antispyware scanners.

One of the best spyware/malware killers ive found is spybot search and destroy. Get it free at http://www.spybot.info/en/mirrors/index.html

AVG also makes a good free anti-spyware program. You can get it at http://free.grisoft.com/doc/downloads-products/us/frt/0?prd=asf
