I know what you mean! He also gave us the memory of how cute they were as babies for the same reason.

My parents (grandparents to 3) say the best thing is being able to spoil the child, and then they also know the kids are only here for a little while to visit. It sounds sort of mean but makes sense. Especially if the kids (like one of the three) is just a spoiled brat. You know they aren't going to stay forever, and they eventually go back, so you know you still have the house and it's not been taken over LOL

Our eldest daughter (now 24y/o) was a first class so-and-so and we told her that she'd realise just how bad she was when she had kids of her own. She was a handful in her teenage years and hasn't changed that much now! Her youngest who will be 7 at the end of December is a horror! He behaves like he's a teenager now! Knows it all, answers back, has no respect, etc., and when our daughter tells us what a handful he is we have to be careful not to laugh! We've told her that we know exactly how she's feeling coz we went through it with her. It's funny tho coz he is not as bad when we go to visit and all it takes for him to behave is "the look" from either me or his Grandad. His mum can't quite work out why her "look" doesn't work lol. All grandchildren are a blessing and it's a treat knowing we can give them back to their parents after we've had them over. xx

That's cute.
I had a daughter that would have been on your "kill the teenager" list as she never did anything but socialize in high school. Got involved with a girl's gang that almost killed her (kidnapped her down to the bluffs overlooking Lake Ontario where they beat her bloody with a baseball bat and their Doc Martens) when she was 14. And then ended up going downtown to live with the "street kids" when she was 15 and stayed for two years...I am sure drinking and drugging and sleeping around to put it mildly.
Now she is 29 years old. The mother of my two youngest grandsons. And THEY are just as much of a handful as their mother ever was. AND I get to deal with this all over again, because we all live together in my multi-generational home, while their mothers support all of us by working.

Grand children are always dear to the Grand parents. The way to get them is through their children. So if we treat our children nicely, even when they are teenagers they will in response give us grand children, as a reward.
But as a matter of fact, children and Grand children come to us, through our family, to collect back their past dues from us. As they were alive in their past life, we would have avoided them, if they reach us for their due money or services. But when them come as children and grand children, we not only pay them all that we have, but also do lot of physical labor and service, as an off spring to us. This is how God is Great always.

Do you remember what Bill Cosby said about Grandparents? They are being nice to their grandchildren so they can get into heaven, after all the evil thoughts they had, raising their children.
