I don't think Hillary is going to withdraw the troops - though there is some debate on that since every other word out of her mouth contradicts the one before it. I think to pull out now will leave such gaping holes in Iraq's infrastructure it'll be run over by Iran or the Saudis in a week, and then where will that leave us?

No it is not We should never have invaded Iraq in the 1st place Our objective was to find Ossma Bin-Laden .This is the person who has admitted to being solely responsible for the 9-11 attack on us. While it is true that Saddam was an evil person It wa the Iraqi people who should have dealt with him. We could have given them the means to do just that without sending our troops there. All Bush has done is made one hell of a mess over there while he has left the real person responsible for 9-11 go free WHY? I highly doubt we will ever get the answer to that question from Mr. Bush! This is the real insult to our troops and the rest of the people of this country

No it isn't. Even though it's obvious that some people apparently believe it. Was it a slap in the face in WW2 when General McArthur abandoned his troops in the Battle Of The Philippines ? To my reasoning it is. But since he left them to fight and eventually be captured, to your reasoning it isn't.
The ultimate question is what is best for the troops welfare ? Obviously if they are soldiers, they have willingly acknowledged that they will have to give up some of their safety to get the job done. But somewhere a line has to be drawn. The situation in Iraq is by no means as bad as the situation I gave an example of in WW2, but the same principle still applies.
You don't necessarily "support" the troops by pushing them into war. If they are fighting a losing battle that will end up costing them their lives for nothing, you are morally obligated to stop the fighting. And if they are fighting for nothing that they can achieve, that's no disgrace on them. It's a disgrace on the situation or the people who put them there.

No, it is not. If a so called war is unjustifiable, then the only moral thing to do bring the troops home. We have no right to ask them to die for nothing. There has to be a justifiable reason for a war, and the only justifiable reason is the HONEST defense of our country, or the HONEST defense of another country from a Tyrant or a Despot. There must NEVER be an ulterior motive on the part of our government, either...but there almost always is! *sm*

Veterans and current members of the United States Military are too large and diverse a group to generlize their position on any issue. I have heard many different opinions about the Iraq War from different soldiers and veterans. And they all deserve to be listened to.

I majored in lit in college. i could say for this poem, you % some background on the poet. It starts off out kinda unhappy, with the view. 'Futures i've got divorced' maximum like refers to abandoned hopes and targets. The 'do no longer look lower back' and knife reference is in all probability approximately getting over painful ideas. That it now no longer cuts implies wish. Or in all probability numbness. The stuff on complacency in all probability potential he feels he enable somebody down by way of no longer doing something he could have completed. to that end the accusatory voices. The final paragraph is a little greater complicated. My experience is that the narrator found out his existence classes and acted to that end, to that end the monstrous advantages. This guy feels like a soldier to me. one that believes that no longer taking action at some mandatory 2nd brought about others injury. Now he's grew to become that physique of ideas around, and located some peace. He gave up previous and futile tries and took a different way of residing, and he's initiating to discover his existence greater useful. i do no longer usually like poems, yet my mothers and fathers spents thousands that they did no longer have so i ought to examine to interpret then. i'm greater approximately novels, however. lower back, you will in all probability earnings from understanding something of this author's existence. This one is enormously very own, previous the final experience of the beauty and cruelty of the international I commonly see in lesser poems.

Aren't you tired of your poisonous lies and deliberately misleading propaganda, Neocon? It will be a gift of life for our troops to get out of Iraq, it will be a great gift of freedom for Iraqi people as well. But it will be a a good slap on the face for oil companies and Cheney's Haliburton which stealing Iraqi oil and selling different junk and services to our troops there because there will be no US troops left o guard them.

What in the world could Hillary know about any facet of the military? I doubt she could find Baghdad on a map. What people need to remember is if they vote for Hillary for President, they'll really be getting Bill.

Not having to get shot at or killed for a bogus cause is a slap in the face?

I'm a veteran, and I'll tell you right now that coming home from a civil war zone would not hurt my feelings.

No, it's actually respectful of their lives and the wishes of the majority of the military as well as US citizens to withdraw.
