They want people to see their good intentions. And when you have assets in the tens of millions of dollars, it's very easy to take any position you want, even if it results in higher taxes or has unintended negative results. What I don't get is why people buy into their nonsense, most celebrities don't even have undergraduate degrees, let alone advanced degrees in the areas that they are "experts" in.

Celebrities want people to like them as they are on center stage. No wonder they support liberal government, which aspires to a one-man-show as provider, protector, educator, doctor, nanny, etc.
Liberal celebrities become so invested in thinking they are on stage, that they will often produce work despite utter rejection at the box office.
Most fair-minded conservatives will pay to see George Clooney, Sean Penn, or Janene Garofolo [slated to star on "24"] if they quit making message movies and SHUT UP AND ACT!

It's just a white collar fashion in many countries. Some people, who have no original idea/thought , pretend to be Leftists and create clout around them that their heart bleeds for the poor. It's not so.They are , in fact, social criminals. They are supposed to give up all pleasures of life and dedicate their lives for the welfare of the have-nots.In reality , you never find this.
Same is seen among the India Baboos....so called white collar leftists. They social devils and highly satanic in their life style.

I am still in awe that Sean Penn went to Venezuela to meet with Chavez. Why? What in the world did he hope to accomplish... and does he think anyone gives a rat's furry behind about his political views??? The man needs to stay before the camera. He is a good actor.

Good question! I think it's because they have such a strange job--being different people--that they often suffer from illogic and are, therefore, drawn to the left.
As for that nonsense about "they care for people," who sent aide to Bangladesh as soon as it happened? Who sends more money to Africa to fight AIDS than any other country? It ain't Bill or any leftist. It's Bush!
Gosh that one answerer had such a LONG list of celebrities who were Republicans! Were there even 10 names on it? And how many of them are dead or sick? How delusional are these people?

Other than drug, alcohol, and sex addictions, can you name anything else about the majority of them that would make you believe they are connected to the real world?

I have often wondered that myself. I think it's because Hollywood in general is pretty left leaning.

Those people do not think. Their problem is the lack of values. They are too munch into themselves.
