Kids who commit serious crimes should be punished in a way that makes them know they are serious. Also for many of these kids the state home is more stable than their family. And their families are bad for them.
Con
A kid who is put in a detention facility learns how to be a better criminal very quickly.

Yes but only for serious, violent crimes. Anyone is just as dead or just as raped, whether it be by a 14 year old as a 40 year old. Any juvenile who can do something like that to another human has serious problems and needs to be locked up.

Research has shown the brain development regarding adolescents is not complete yet. I do not believe that people under 16 should be tried, convicted and punished as adults. I attached an article to give you some ideas.

theese kids should be sent off to a millitary school untill 18-21
with no reccord at all.
Chargeing a 16 year old as an adult is injustice unless he intentionally kills people.
Most kids NEED direction and disapline and know that some one loves and cares thatt hey succeed or fail.
We let child predators free and send children to prison.
