Go back to your earlier sketches and do the same thing. Only, this time, try to improve on the quality of what you do.

ALL good artists practice for their entire careers. We don't stop, just because we "ran out of ideas." No artist can, EVER, claim to have perfected his or her skills. No even da Vinci or Michaelangelo.

I suggest that you, go ahead, and START drawing people. Perhaps you don't like to because you are not good at it. You will NEVER be good at it unless you practice the skill.

For example, I LIKE drawing cartoons. But I have to continully practice drawing people because I need to make my characters BELIEVEABLE in their settings. My cartoon figures will not be able to stand in a natural way, unless I understant how real people stand. My character's clothing will not fit properly, in their poses, unless I can understand how real clothing does not fit like paper doll's clothing.

Every once in a while, when my cartoons begin to look stiff and awkward, I go out and sketch from real life, in order to "recharge" my creative "batteries."

Growing up scenery was never my thing, but I've come to like it alot more sense I've taken a few background painting classes.
I highly recommend you take up oil painting or gouache.
anyways- there are lots of awsome places to be drawn. I particularly like market places or baazars with lots of stalls and things, Strange trees and caves. Oban Star racer, is a cartoon series with particularly beautiful landscapes and settings that i have found very inspiring.
Take a look at different Animes. I usually shun anime for learning to draw but for background design they are truly the best. anything Miazaki (spelling?) like spirited away have amazing locations that I'm sure will inspire you.

If you really love background design and painting you should think of getting into the animation or game industry designing them.

Draw people. I know you said you didn't like to draw people, that could be because you don't feel confident drawing people(or not I don't know u) but if you want to become a well rounded artist or musician or anything you have to not only have to what you like or that you are good at but the stuff you don't like or the stuff that gives you problems.

I know it sounds corny but u could try video game scenery. It's always pretty interesting and different from regular outdoors.
