Need new front brakes and my options at AutoZone are: Duralast ($45) and Valucraft ($34). Not sure if it matters, but I'm in stop and go traffic on the way to/from work. Lots of braking! I have a 99 Dodge Durango if that matters.

Also need brakepads, same manufacturers...

Or are there better brands elsewhere? Napa? Murrays?

general rule, the cheaper the rotor, the faster to warp, and the faster to wear out.

For quiet, and comfort, you may want to use the Duralast rotors, with the Carbon Metallic pads. This should give you good pedal feel, along with comfortable, predictable breaking.

Napa carries quality products. I have never had good luck at Autozone or Pep Boys. They push the cheap parts.

Ask the mechanic that will be doing the brakes. If you a the DIY. Then get the higher quality parts. Remember your life may depend on your decision.

NAPA is by far better.
