He may not have the resume of Brodeur but, it looks like this kid can do the job. Mind you he's still young, has little past experience and plays for the flakiest team in hockey. I think he's doing fine. After all, aren't the Rangers ahead of the Devils in the standings?

A backup goalie...lol - who would the starter be -- Jesus Christ himself?

Lundqvist has been the best goalie in the NHL this season, his stats prove it, he leads the league in wins, has 4 shutouts and an awesome GAA & Save %. In 17 of 24 gamest his year he has allowed 2 goals or less, that is crazy.

He has been nominated for the Vezina the past 2 seasons, and is a walk in for another nomination this year if he continues to play the way he has played so far through 20 games.

To answer your question. Yes, Lundqvist is a solid number one. In fact, he is probably the best #1 in the NHL right now.

Also, he is the best goalie in the shootout as well, look at his stats.

Your Devils friend is an idiot, sorry to say, he knows about as much about hockey as well, most Devils fans.

This is purely a case of ignorance and denial on the case of the Jersey fan, just like most Jersey fans they refuse to admit that anybody in the league could possible be better then them, or there coveted Brodeur. While i give them that Brodie is one of the best goalies to ever play the game of hockey, that is all they know about the posistion. Henrik Lundqvist has been one of the best starting goalies since last season. The season started slow for the rangers last year but he continually posted great numbers and then carried them to an insane record post all star game last year. That has carried over to this year when he is one of the best goalies in the league now, playing on a team with out a single big name defender he still has the rangers as the team with the least goals against them.

Lundqvist is probably the best goalie in the National Hockey League now.

Wow, and I thought Devils fans were somewhat smart. Lundqvist is better than Brodeur right now. He's got, what, four shutouts already this season, a GAA of 1.83, a saver percentage of .930, and he's ranked fifth OVERALL (as in out of all the players in the league) by yahoo. Meanwhile, Brodeur's got two shut outs, a GAA of 2.31, save percentage of .910, and ranked 24th. So, no, you can tell your friends that Lundqvist isn't a solid number one goalie what so ever with those numbers!

I'd be much happier with Alexis Bledel, amdd. lol

No, I used to work at Blockbuster and work with a freelance movie critic on my last job. Degrees of separations like this come eerily natural to me...lol

Lundqvist is more than a solid #1 goaltender

However, since November 1st, Brodeur leads all NHL goaltenders in GAA, wins, and SPCT, and only Luongo had more shutouts in November. Brodeur just had a bad October...which is to be expected with only 1 home game

He's a Vezina competitor (best goalie) each and every year, and would probably start on 90% of the teams in the league right now. One of the best goalies in the game.

Good Lord. I hate the Rangers, but I gotta respect that man. I like Brodeur a lot, too, but come on, let's call a spade a spade.

PS-Anyone else look at 2eighty8 and think of Bad Santa? Should I send in Lauren Graham?
