I highly doubt they will let you for your first with no medical reason. I have had 2 c sections now and i have not delivered vaginally but i did experience labor (24 hrs to be exact). honestly if you cant do pain, have the epidural as early as you can. the healing process from a c section is quite painful compared to the few hours of labor my dear lol good luck:)

a few things to consider here..
1. This isn't somthing that should be decided until you are pregnant. Generally a doctor will not allow a C-Section unless there are certain complications.
2. If you have a doctor who lets you choose a cesarian over a natural birth, then take into consideration that your insurance may not cover it.
3. Cesarians aren't necessarily safe for your baby especially when they are not needed..

I do sympathize with how you feel.. I too was in your shoes and was thinking about wanting a c-section. I had some complications for myself, but I still didn't qualify for a c-section. And now, i'm so thankful that I saw the natural birthing process through.. My delivery was quick and painless. I didn't even feel my contractions after I had the epidural. Sure I was sore after the epidural wore off, but not nearly as sore as I would have been if I had a c-section. As far as the pain of an epidural, well, it feels like someone is pinching you hard, its uncomfortable, but to me it wasn't painful...

Why would you choose to have a C-section? It's a bigger deal than most people realize. I'm not trying to criticize because I felt the same way until I really read about C-sections. They can pose much higher risks than natural birth. Also, you will be in pain much longer afterwards than you would have been with a natural birth. I don't know if you can elect to have one or not, but before you make that choice really do some research on both C-sections and natural births. I'm sure you will find that natural births are more beneficial and less risky than C-sections. Good luck.

A c-section is a major surgery. Doing a c-section just because you don't to go through labor is totally selfish and you are only putting you And your baby at risk. Did you know that c-section babies are much more likely to go to the NICU? Your physically recovery time would take much longer, etc.

I believe in natural childbirth, no pain meds etc, but you would be much better off getting an epidural and going through labor than electing to have a c-sect. And any Dr that would give you a c-sect for no medical reason whatsoever, well then he needs to have his license reviewed.

If you're not good at handling pain, your choice should be some sort of pain relief (like an epidural) not a c-section. With a c-section, you will have LOTS of pain for several weeks while you're healing (you won't have any pain during the actual surgery because of the anaesthesia, of course).

Unfortunately you can't just pick to have a c section. I wouldnt worry too much, there's pain relief, and a baby at the end of it to keep you motivated lol.
Ive been told i may have a csection because:
1- my babies breech
2- my stature is small, & there worried my pelvis is too small.
3- he isnt growing satisfactorfily therefore may need to be born early.
you can discuss you worries with your midwife when you fall pregnant, but im pretty sure you cant just ask for 1! i personally cant wait to give birth xxx

i don't think you should have one just because you're scared of giving birth. with c-sections, they usually only give one if the baby needs out immediately and he's not down far enough or if there are complications with your pregnancy. you can have different sorts of pain relief like epidural, laughing gas (nitrous oxide) or even get into a tub of water at the hospital (that helps a lot apparently!)
i've heard of women who have had c-sections wished they'd had vaginal delivery. you don't take as long to heal. you can breast feed immediately and it won't hurt to lie your baby across your belly.
i was very scared of delivering but once it's over, you won't even realize what happened. you'll lay your eyes on that beautiful child and not even remember the pain.

There are other ways to deal with pain in delivary(like epidurals). Some doctors may let you have an elective but I do know some insurances won't pay for it if it is unnecessary.

Say something now because of the fact C-sections are pre-scheduled. Secondly, you're unquestionably entitled to a C-area in case you opt for one. you're well being care provider could attempt to chat you out of it, and if thats the case - why do not you discover a sparkling supportive well being care provider?? each and every well being care provider has a distinctive type, you are going to be able to desire to do what's proper for you somewhat of being a push-over. I aked my OB approximately non-compulsory C-area and he pronounced in Brazil it rather is a vey undemanding prepare. women do it each and every of the time for even non-scientific motives (notably nicely-loved women). He became into greater beneficial than chuffed to do a C-area if I asked it. that's as risk-free as customary childbirth, however therapeutic time is longer. given which you have a probable scientific reason you sense you opt for one, circulate with your instincts. communicate on your OB, and if he/she makes you sense like your nuts or incorrect - then discover a sparkling well being care provider in the present day. keep in mind, you're paying THEM, you may opt for any well being care provider you opt for! playstation . it is not too late to alter. i could desire to alter well being care provider's whilst i'm 8 months because of the fact i would be out-of-state. call your insurance, because of the fact i'm specific you may exchange. you in ordinary terms do not opt for to do it on the final minute.

If you don't like pain, why would you choose to have major abdominal surgery? You will have pain for weeks, you won't be able to be as active as you would like to be with a newborn, and you'll limit your possible future pregnancies. You should let your doctor make that decision.
