It's a well known fact that a lot of popular musicians really suck at live performances. Here's my list of those I have watched perform and suck live:(Feel free to disagree)
Nelly Furtado,Timbaland,T-Pain,O'Marion,Cassie,Coldplay(suprise!),Madonna,50 Cent,Gwen Stefani,Sean Kingston,
Pussycat Dolls(Nicole Scherzinger),Ray J,Fergie(sometimes),
Kelly Rowland(her voices goes all deep and masculine),
Akon(The wonderful golden voice doesn't sound so golden),
Lily Allen(never rated her highly anyway)
e.t.c.
Here are those who don't suck live in my opinion:
Michael Jackson (impossible!)
Justin Timberlake
Ciara(big suprise!)
Kanye West
Toni Braxton
Lemar
Sugababes
Keane
Snow Patrol
Usher
Chris Brown(another suprise),
Craig David,
Mary J Blige
e.t.c
By the way, just what in the world is done with their voices in the studio?I'm really curious now.

Be careful - you're likely to get done under the trades descriptions act for misuse of the word "musician" - by musicians ! ! !

Producers can perform ALL kinds of magic in the studio - pitch can be fixed, also timing (I understand to be the biggest problem). Heck, you can do that with Garageband! Almost note by note can be fixed for someone willing to take the time to do so. And with megabucks from studios, that's highly probable.

A family member saw Neil Young some years age and said he was too incapcitated to finish the set and shouldn't have been allowed on. Same relative said BEST shows ever were Michael Jackson, Rolling Stones, TIna Turner and Alice Cooper. Said these people totally respected their audiences and gave performances to remember.

Robbie Williams! He seems to think it's a good idea to get the audience to sing the songs for him! Sometimes I'm not sure whether he has paid to go and see the audience perform!
In a studio you can add a multitude of effects to make the voice sound better - some artists have even been known to get other people to sing for them!

Well when they are recorded in the studio, they are then saved to a computer and normally each singer who can't sing will have their own 'recipe' of reverbs, harmonies etc. that will be added to the copy of the new song.

Beyonce didn't used to sing very well but she is ok now and don't get me started on Jess Simpson and Fergie.

I don't think it is fair that they get millions of £/$ for something a computer does for them. I can't sing, does that mean I get to be a celebrity and have lots of money for something that someone else wrote and for a record a computer makes?1?!?!

PS: alot of them pretend to sing live when actually they are lip sycing. this is wrong and especially bad if the fans find out, which is what happened to Ashley Simpson.

the non commercial bands always sound the best. usually in studio, artists voices are doubled over for a better sound and you obviously can't get that live. the big famous bands are just there for your money while bands like dream theater are there to play for the love of music.

every single singer who is singing live sucks because they have to dance and when your moving it hard to breath so you get tired your voice is all bumpy and you sound like youre tone deaf and if your just standing there its boring so they have to move it's also because of the adrenaline and all the people who you said ar good are trrible nn one can sing live except for miley cyrus/ashley tisdale and mary j blige

I agree with Michael Jackson, Justin Timberlake, and Usher. I haven't seen any of the others, but I've seen dvd's of Michael (never seen him live yet) and he's amazing, I've been to Justin's concert and he was good, and I've seen video's of Usher live and he's pretty good too.
