Just a little strange isn't?
Why do they become transparent when they weren't to begin with? Please help, oh wise ones........

Snow (not transparent) is made of water (transparent).

Well, you're not MIXING them, you're REACTING them, which is completely different. They are non-transparent because they are impure substances with a high surface area - when melted together they become something different, a glass.

It's the actionof heat that helps this change with glass - though lead used to be added to increase the clarity. Molecules changing - sand and glass will have a different chemical formula?
