I live in the southern US, and I ran across this coin at my job the other day. At first I thought it was just a Canadian dime, but I looked at it closer, and discovered it has not monetary value on it. It's the size of a dime and has something to do with the 25th anniversary of the 1972 Summit Series hockey games.

Here it is compared to a Canadian dime and quarter.

And the obverse sides. The spot in the middle of it looks like some type of damage.

Any help identifting this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I figured out what it is. A friend suggested the spot on the back might have been where a pin was located. Sure enough, that's what it is. http://cgi.ebay.com/1997-RCM-Can-Russia-Hockey-series-Silver-Pin-RARE_W0QQitemZ180032175749QQihZ008QQcategoryZ3379QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem

I am from michigan so I see canadian coins a lot, and to me it doesn't look like any coins now, but it could be an older one. Try going to a coin collector

the first one does have something to do with the summit hocky series (russia vs canada in 1972 i believe). not to sure about the second one, looks like it was warn off. now and then the Canadian mint comes out with decorative conmenmorative coins to conmemorate some things like Rememberance Day, the Olympics, Breast Cancer, as well as other things. i'm not sure if they are worth anything yet but they are fun to collect and keep as a souvenier.

i dont understand why the Queen isnt on it, even though it rather is a collector's coin. in case you circulate to a interior sight museum or somthing, they could help you perceive it. if not, there is often the Royal Canadian Mint in Ottawa

It isn't money, it's a souvenir. They made a big coin too.
