Because your GPA wasn't very strong when you were in high school, your best bet would be to get your GED and then go to a community college for two years. From there, if you do well, you can transfer to a good university and get your college degree. I'm afraid that you can't erase your original GPA by taking extra high school classes, so the GED would really be the best way to go. You can get into a community college with a high school diploma or GED, regardless of grades, but if you go there for two years and get your associates degree, the good universities will not look at anything other than your grades in community college to decide to admit you. Find a community college in your area which boasts of a good transfer rate to good schools. They will help you choose courses which can be transferred to a university later on.
