Why do conservatives call a 4 year guerrilla war with no end in sight a "victory"?

Ha, been there. Our redeployment in no way is a "cut and run". Rather a realistic approach to the end of a war and illegal occupation that we cannot win. If we stayed for the next 100 years we would still be fighting with people that are far more dedicated to their beliefs than we are to the protection of oil. SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! BRING THEM HOME NOW!

YES YOU ARE CORRECT, CUT AND RUN IS MOST LIKELY THE OFFICIAL MILITARY TERM, THEY SHOULDN'T MAKE UP BIASED-SOUNDING SILLY NAMES

In any case cutting and running implies there is an actual fight going on against a defined enemy that you will be running away from.

Redeployment is shifting not the just the numbers of troops but their location and functions within Iraq to reflect the realities of the civil war we are referring and occasionally participating in.

The end goal is of course to stop all military involvement, but not by "cutting and running."

Because dems/ libs know if they tell the american people the truth and facts on the issues and themselves they would loose all support . Hilliary ''bonehead'' clinton will never tell you she is a socialist, she calls it progressive, but look at her record and believes and you'll see she is a Socialist. The dems have to lie ,misguide, and use loopholes to hide what they really are.

They don't. It a term used to frame the discussion about how to get out of there in a negative way.

It also would be nice if the questioners and responders had to indicate if they had ever served in the service during a time of war, I have.

both mean retreat...."cut and run" is an O'Reillyish phrase.

Get rid of propaganda-like terms and use logic. The present government is not telling us everything and expecting us to give our children to their war. If it is really necessary, why can't they bring the logic to the table? The fact is that there is no logic, or they would have done so already

Same reason Repubs call a withdraw, losing.

Its a political tool used to munipulate the view of the war to gather votes.

Doesn't really matter - it is all a straw man argument - the realities on the ground are no matter who is elected President next year, we will be in IRAQ for a long, long time.

When you back down from a fight some call it cowardice, some call if a reasonable effort to avoid violence. It depends on which side you bread is buttered on.

cut and run is a nice phrase the g.o.p came up with to denegrate the dems. they are skilled at that. i bet if bush ordered an invasion of canada today, most of the republican lemmings would be all for it. and accuse those who disagreed as being wimpy traitors.
