depends. I like to do both but on a team, if you are with friends you tend to talk more than work. If you aren't with friends, you tend to fight about whatever needs to be done or say something totally off the subject like who is going to win the superbowl (which will totally be the browns... lol ya right). But on hard projects, it is better to work with a group because you can bounce ideas off eachother and help eachother with the misunderstood parts.

But on the other hand, if you work alone, you only hve yourself to blame if you get sidetracked and you have no one to talk to since its only you. You get things done how you want it, the pace you want it, the way you like it, and how you imagined it. Sometimes I'm disappointed when i can't do things how I pictured it because my group doesn't like the idea. You have no one to help get ideas off of except yourself which is good and bad at once. And if the teacher or someone isn't around, no one can help with the misunderstood part. B ut you know no one is slacking since you are doing it yourself.

But as you can see, there are pros and cons for alone and group. I like them both. It helps in different types of problems.

I only like teams if there are only two of us, and one is the clear boss.
If I am boss, I need a sounding board for my bizarre ideas and to help me find just where I put my pliers down again...

If I am not the boss I don't have to worry about the big picture as much. So I can practice my mind reading skills and just have fun working while the boss goes nuts over the important stuff.

I do HATE having a co-worker though. Because there is no clear line of who decides what and either;
a. The other person thinks they are freaking awesome.
b. The other person wants to talk all day.
c. The other person wants to nitpick and be very anal when there is not enough time for it.
d. The other person wants to do a half-job and leave.

you know what I mean... >_<

I prefer to perform my work solo. I am not a "people" person nor would I consider myself suitable for any "leadership" role.

I find the concept of "groupthink" to be self-defeating. I feel as if I must compromise my entire personality as well as put in needless extra effort in order to avoid resentment and conflict with other "team members. Plus making sure that every individual is on the same pace is quite tedious and tends to accomplish the opposite of its intended effect.

No, I am simply more efficient and productive when left to my own devices. In the event something goes awry, at least I can actually own up to my own mistakes and am able to correct them much more quicker than I would have in a group environment.

I would prefer to work with a group. Somethings you just can't do alone. As long as we have good team-work going on, because if we don't it would be better just to work alone.

I like to teach a group of people, yet I work side by side with my employees too. Some things though, a person needs solitude or the figures do not add up: like the check book. My spouse likes to ask questions when I'm doing things like that.

Working alone. People always try to incorporate their problems to the table and that normally distracts the group from reaching the goal.

It depends on what it is... but I prefer working alone. That way I know the job will get done (and done right).

Working in groups it can be distracting and unproductive. But there are days I like being distracted and unproductive. :)

i usually prefer to work alone, just because then everything will get done the way i want it to. Also, if your partner/group does something stupid, you get the bad grade for it. and that's no bueno.
