5x(x^2 - 2x - 3)

Note that -3 + 1 = - 2 and (-3)(1) = - 3

take out 5 x common..
--> 5x [x^2 - 2x - 3x]
--> 5x[x^2 - 3x + x - 3x]
--> 5x [x(x-3) +1 (x-3)]
-->5x (x-3) (x+1)
