I know their is a lot of anti buckeyes out there, but seriously why don't they deserve the title shot this year? Is it because they were number one and fell? Well that seems to be the way the BCS worked this year for all of the number ones, so that cant be it.
Is it because they are 11-1, well then Hawaii should be number one then, but the BCS is clearly looking the other way when it comes to Hawaii. So it can’t be that they are 11-1.

They do have the best record in the big 10, they did battle their way to number 1, they did hold number one for most of the season, and they did out score most of their opponents by 21 points. And if you want to bring up the strength of the schedule, well then go jump in a uniform and play with them, they played some excellent teams this season, and yes I know they lost to Illinois, but everyone else has lost at least one also.

Ohio State is not weak, they didn’t have a poor schedule, and THEY ARE very deserving of the BCS title game.

Why are they going to get embarrassed? Any team can loose or win at any given time, that doesn’t mean history will repeat itself. Now why don't they deserve it?

If you think the schedule is is weak, then you pick the schedule, you say you cant? Well neither can they, that does not help your argument. Next!!

All the reasons you listed are why people don't think OSU deserves to play in the NCG.

People will be saying we don't deserve to go - we're going to get creamed, blah blah blah....

But everything you listed is true.....we dominated the Big Ten - yes haters, I said dominated...

There are 15 conferences in NCAAF - 16 including the Independents...

Out of those 16 conferences - Ohio State, Virginia Tech, Kansas, UCF, Central Michigan, and Troy - have one loss...

Out of those 16 conferences - Hawaii and Brigham Young are the ONLY two teams with no losses...

People (mainly SEC fans) will always hate on the Big Ten/OSU because they just will. They'll say they don't *hate* anyone - but they do....just as Buckeye fans hate Michigan and vice versa....

I have just learned to take it in stride, with a grain of salt and realize that people will always dis/hate on those that have proven their worth....It is what it is....we're not going to change their minds...like they won't be able to change our minds that the Buckeyes deserve it and I really do think that there is no way the Buckeyes will lose this year...Tressel won't have it.....Gooo Buckeyes!

(Bring on the thumbs down - I'm woman enough to take it;)

I am going to say no for many reasons. First, the SEC is sooo tough that I'm not sure even LSU can avoid a loss, especially with the championship game. Florida pushed them to the last second, and there are many other good teams there. And even if they do go through this long stretch I don't know if they can survive another game. Look at OSU last year how everyone wanted to hand them the title and they lost. Could happen again if they get there. Second, Ohio State is not going to e the Big Ten champion, they may end up begin a co-champ, but there will be two or even three teams with one loss. And they will be hurt by the lack of a championship, where they could make up a spot or two at the end (but that's another topic). But I still think they can get through riding their D. Therefore, I would have to look at Oklahoma because they have by far the easiest schedule left and OSU in the National Title game. With an OU win.

As a Texas Longhorns fan I never really liked Ohio State
(damn buckeyes beating us last year), but they should have a shot at the national title. No other team went 11-1.

Hawaii went 12-0 or undefeated and in actuality they should have at least a consideration for the national title race. Even though they play basically nobobdy (niether did OSU[Michigan choked again in their game against them {as expected}]), but going 12-0 or 11-1 is pretty hard to do regardless of schedule.

Do I think they're going to no. No way! LSU is too good.

Are they gonna make it a good game. Probably not because they will either be too rusty from not having to play a conference championship game and getting too much rest. Or LSU will have too much experience from playing big games against good opponents.

I will be rooting for OSU though because even though I hate them, I hate LSU more.

The games that will catch my interest though is
1. the sugar bowl. Wanna give the small Hawaii school some love.
2. Holiday bowl. reason (a) Texas is my favorite team
(b) It will probably be the best non-BCS bowl game in the series.
3. Fiesta bowl. Time to watch Stoops and those sooners the get the crap beat out of them.

Everybody had a shot at #1. Nobody wanted it and honestly I don't see anybody deserving of it. LSU fans don't blow smoke about being unbeaten in regulation. You lost, thats the rules. WV you lose your QB, with a thumb injury to his non throwing hand in a rival game with NC game on the line and your team couldn't back that up. USC don't lose to a 41 point underdog at home. And OSU don't lose at home to an unranked opponent.

If OSU isn't deserving than why did the human polls vote them to the rank they are? Don't vote them there. It isn't OSU's fault that the Big 10 is weak this year. It isn't their fault that Dixon got hurt, or LSU, Georgia, USC, WV, Mizzou, OU lost games. Don't blame them.

OSU has beaten five teams with winning records, the same as OU and Georgia. If we backed our way in, it's only because the door was left wide open. Personally I would have loved to seen WV/Mizzou in a NC game. Both choked. I suppose that was the doing of OSU as well.

Bottom line is the BCS needs to go. But until it becomes about the actual sport than money that will never happen. OSU is just as deserving as any other team this year. I know SEC doesn't want to hear that, but they will never be happy until they are treated seperately than the rest of all other BCS eligible schools. Whoever OSU plays in the NC game is a welcomed opponent and it will be a great match up.

They deserve a shot. I think they are the best. Just take a look at some of the opponents of the contenders:

Missouri: played Mississippi, Western Michigan, and Illinois State

West Virginia: played Western Michigan, Marshall, Maryland, and East Carolina

LSU: played Mississippi State, Middle Tennessee, and Tulane

Georgia: played Oklahoma State, South Carolina, and Western Carolina

Virginia Tech: played East Carolina, Ohio, and William & Mary

See? Every team has to have some cream puff opponents. Anyway, didn't West Virginia just get beaten by Pittsburgh?

They deserve it and I think they'll win it!

That first guy should know something about embarrasment WV fans should be ashamed.

if teams would have won the games they were supposed to, then the BCS would have no problem. But people will blame the system before they blame themselves.

Ohio State will be the champions, and will silence the naysayers.

I believe they will be in the National Championship..and as I can see your a Buckeye fan and this is gonna hurt ya but...tell me a signature win?... Michigan? well when they play 7 ranked teams like LSU and only lose one talk to me or Georgia who was 4-0 against ranked opponents, even Oklahoma beat Mizzou twice, their losses were against worst teams than that of LSU's and Georgia's. At this point OSU is in by default because the system is so out of wack right now. Congrats to earning what isnt just. As we all know though, the 2 best teams never play in this game.

Maybe Ohio State will do what they did against the unbeatable Miami not too long ago? I recall the Buckeyes didn't have a chance.

There biggest win was against Michigan. They haven't played anyone all season and despite being the #1 ranked team any team that will play Ohio State will be favored to win. Oklahoma, LSU, Georgia, Virginia Tech are really the best teams and would be the final four if there was a playoff system. As much as I hate UF I think that they are the playing as good as anyone and would beat Ohio State.
