Take a whiz on the white house.

You should go to the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. I also like the old part of the Smithsonian, the exhibits from the 1876 Exposition Machinery Hall are great.

Arlington National Cemetary and the Custis Lee Mansion is a must see also. Don't miss the Capital Dome and Statuary Hall if it's open.

Go to the Smithsonian Art Museum, then hit some of the other Smithsonian buildings in the vicinity.

ps If you find yourself in the Tyson's Corner area at all while you're there, go to "Yas" bakery and eat until you can't eat anymore, then bring back boxes of the stuff with you. Their pastries are a slice of heaven.

The Smithsonian, or as much of it as I could see in one day. I understand it's huge, and you have to pick a section per day. Maybe the Native American section?

If you want inspiration, spend a day in the Air and Space Museum.
