I haven't read those books (although I plan to eventually) but I'll reccommend some other chick lit you might like. How about the Princess Diaries (VERY different from the movie)? Or the Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants (better than the movie)? Or for some classics you might like, try Wuthering Heights, Gone With the Wind, or Sense and Sensibility.

Does your local library have a young reader's service librarian? I think that the librarian there might have suggestions there or try the website Novelist that is usually hooked up to a library's database.
There is also a website or book called What to Read Next?
You might also ask at a local bookstore like Borders, Barnes and Noble or Amazon.
Good luck on your search.
A book I checked out from my local library is titled Best Books for Young Adults published by the Young Adult Library Services Association edited by Holly Koelling foreward by Betty Carter. It is also published by the American Library Association.
