I've been away for most of the pregnancy since I've been deployed (military) but I want to make it as special as I can. I've got a belly cast already and are doing Maternity photos. Is there any thing else I could do?

If you got a sequence of photos showing "development" make a sequential motage / video clip of them culminating with a pic of the little one . . .

Must be hard being away at this time . . .

well if you still have some time you could make a journal of the pregnancy. Include things you and your wife discussed concerning the pregnancy and how you felt at every milestone. Also make a T-shirt with a picture of the sono on it right where your wife's belly is. Hope these ideas help. congratulations.

You should write her a keepsake letter about your feelings about seeing her pregnant and your feelings about your new child and your future...its really nice to have one of those because years from now she can read it and still remember how you were feeling at the time she carried your baby! good luck and congrats to you! (my husband is deployed now and we have a three month old son...I know how she feels!)

I kept a journal to my unborn child. All the feelings I was having...hopes, fears, expectations....mushy stuff like that. I plan on saving them for each child to have when they have children of their own. (that way they won't think that they are the ONLY ones who have felt like that).

And it stinks that you are missing most of this time...it's hard to be away from family...but especially during a special time like this.

Good luck, God Bless & thanks for Serving

Pictures and video are a good way...also I am saving all of my appointment cards and sonogram pictures so I can make a scrapbook later.
