Can you see if the book is available on cd or books on tape?
Does the subject matter interest you?
What kind of book is it?
How many pages is it?
My last words of wisdom would be if you don't like it don't read it, I would find that a complete waste of time. There are too many other books to read.
Take notes as you read it. Patience might also help in reading a long book and interest in the book might also help.
Don't force yourself to read it!

If you have trouble reading large chunks at a time, break it down into smaller sections. Take one chapter at a time. Read and then jot down notes about what you've read in a reading journal. A reading journal will help you remember what happens, and it will also force you to look at an understand the most important events in every chapter.

One chapter at a time.

you have to have the will to read one... if you dont have any will or any goal to finish a book, no matter how long or short the book is you'll never finish it. and you should not just read it, try to understand and feel what you're reading so you'll not gonna forget it...
