no dear Nada ... there is no Provocation in that at all.
i will be proud to hold your hand ... and we both cross the street ... then i will lead you to the first Officer and tell him that "i found this lost girl ... and she don't know the way to home" ... LOL

you know Nada ? you are not alone in that problem, my ex was having the same ...
i think that we have to name this situation as Crossing Streets Phobia.

i don't get provoked easily. you'd have to shove/try to hit me to get an emotional reaction out of me...anyway, I do understand why you'd be cautious trying to cross the streets based on what i've seen in cairo and alexandria. Am amazed at the populations street crossing abilities w/ all the stopping in the middle of intersections and zig zagging between cars to get to where ppl. want to get. It's kind of exciting. I've almost been trampled by a vegetable pulling donkey more than once and never realized what a risk it was to cross a busy cairo intersection for the sake of some french fries @a mcdonalds for my little boy. Crossing the street IS a near death experience, so maybe that's why you're still alive. I also don't think the punishment is high enough for the reckless drivers who hit people to make people more pedestrian friendly.

OK, nada, rana and ruby ... hold my hand and cross ... you will never cross streets after that experience again! looool I'm suicidal when it comes to crossing streets! I found that if I wait for the cars to stop I'll remain standing there all day! I just cross in between the cars and they are forced to slow down! Sure i get called crazy and shouted at sometimes, but I don't really care! hehehe It's very uncivilized, I know, but that's just the way traffic is in Egypt! Abroad I always respect the lights and wait till it says walk to cross! lol

lol I hold my husband's hand tightly and don't even bother looking when we're crossing the road in Egypt. I can never do it alone. I did it a couple of times before alone though cuz I had to, but I couldn't believe myself. It was a huge accomplishment.

No I'm the same and i don't even have to cross roads like you do in Egypt. I freeze when i come to the road and if i have a friend with me i will latch on to her arm and my heart pounds and the road isn't that busy. Different story when I'm in Egypt i have a heart attack and can't breathe normally even though I'm with someone who lives in Egypt and is used to crossing roads i really do hold on so tight to them.

So no you don't provoke me i understand how you feel.

I have much trouble to cross the road too. I look at people who cross without hesitation between cars and wonder how they manage to do it so easily as if they are ghosts who do not care about being hit. No you do not provoke me, on the contrary I am happy that I am not the only one.

hehehehehe, looolz ya Nada, you don't provoke me of course, you just tell me in indirect way that you are an innocent baby :-)

And about my crossing, it's mad, it really is, I remember when some colleague of mine was crossing with me and after the mission had been done without any losses or injuries :D she told me: "Ashraf, fakarny ba3d keda ma3adeesh ma3ak elshare3 tany" loooolz :D

It's not that mad actually, bas f masr law estaneety le7ad mayeegy door eloshah ye3ado, yeb2a mesh hane5las ;-), this does not mean at all that I don't follow the traffic instructions but simply there are streets without rules, men ela5er lazem te3ady beldera3 :-)
