Try coin collecting. It doesn't have to cost you a lot. You can go to the bank and pick of a box of coin (whichever denomination you like) for exactly face value. A box of pennies is $25, a box of nickels is $100, a box of dimes is $250 and boxes of quarters or half dollars are $500. You don't have to buy the whole box. The bank can pull out whatever amount you like.

Once you get a box, you can go through and pull out the better coins (there are books to help with this or websites). You can pick up a coin album and try to fill all the holes (get one for each year) or just search for interesting ones.

The coins that you don't want can be returned to the bank and put straight back into your account (though it's often better to return the coins to a different bank (not just a different branch but a different bank) so that you don't search the same coins over and over). Everything you find will have been obtained at face value. You'd be surprised what people have found. Check out these links to see:

Also check your change for interesting finds.

Some things to search for: wheat pennies, silver dimes, silver quarters, old coins, error coins, coins with the "S" mintmark - it could be a proof coin etc. There's always the chance that you could find a real treasure!

It's also helpful to buy a red book. It can help you price your coins and will answer many of the questions you may have.

OR IF THAT'S NOT FOR YOU...

Oh gosh, thats quite a question...
I have a LOT of hobbies. I think you might enjoy cross stich, knitting or crochet. I cross stich every night while watching tv. There is a terrific book out there called "Subversive Cross stich". It has lots of patterns that are easy and really fun to do. My fav is one with cute, pastel hearts that spell out the word F*CK. Its not expensive, I got a book on amazon for $13. Floss and fabric are on sale all the time. Knitting and Crochet are also ones that are really relaxing. I made a king size afgan with double crochet. It took almost a year to finish as I did it at night after dinner, but it is soo pretty and I can proudly say that I made it! As you get better at it you can make gifts for friends for Christmas or birthdays. You can make that perfect sweater for yourself in exactly the colors you love. Best thing about crochet and knitting, keeps you warm in the winter (blanket you are working on in your lap as you work)
There are all sorts of things you can do-museums, photography, hiking... It really is a huge list of possibility-go to Michaels or Hobby Lobby and explore!
You will find the one you love!
Good luck!

Just think what you really like doing best of all, if its country walks, why not try pressing flowers and making pictures, book marks etc. Stamp collecting is not expensive and you might find that really rare specimen someday!
Sewing can be fun something like tapestry or embroidery or even knitting and crochering.
Home baking can be fun too, or cooking for one can be challenging and get you used to foods you perhaps havent tried before.
Reading the Bible is BRILLIANT, there is war, love and all kinds of both human and spiritual stories in that most wonderful of books.
Hope you soon find what is right for you.
