I suddenly thought of this when I logged in about, Three minutes ago, the little box on the left was like.. "Whoa! You've earned 1 points." and I just sat here like, "Okay, One point is special because?"

Just seems a bit too hyped up, what do you think?

Really. Who cares about 1 point? I get a little enthusiastic when I get 11, but I really like to answer questions and get feedback on this website, more than get the points.

**hugs**

I guess I just don't often notice about the points anymore. It's not like the points actually "do" something for you is it? which I find curious! Maybe they have a "master plan" after all! To me a lot of points just means you've been part of the Y/A community for a long time. So that benefits everyone doesn't it? Interesting question though! You get a gold star!!! ♥

I agree....Why can't it be 2 points..or why can't you earn the # of points for the number of days that you are away. So that they are really thankful that you came back. Some incentive..other then 1 point.

Also the way that the incentives are...why can't we cash in our points for different things..instead of being allowed to ask more questions. Questions is what keeps it going..so why can't you win a cool screensaver or a new email chime, etc...? Make it worth our while and many more people might stay longer.

The only reason I like to do it...is that there a fun questions to answer on here...Some really bizzare questions that I never thought of..I wonder at times..what makes people come up with them. ...Is it something that they saw, or just something that popped into their head, something to make others laugh..or to get a reaction from them. Something to ponder!

Great Question..or Statement!

The 1 point is for your visit, you get 1 point a day just when you sign in on Yahoo Q/A.

Yes I do think that, they get a little bit too excited at times. They act like that one point would get a million dollars.

I like the points because they help me keep track of what I do on here. So what if they like to jazz it up a little. Should they be saying "Damn it! you got 10 points"

I wish they would drop the points all together, in a visible way at least.

They need something in the background to differentiate between established users & newbies, but that doesn't have to be this "in your face" points thing
