cash for everyday things like groceries, library fines,gas, usually unless I'm completely penniless then it goes on gas card. Checks for paying bills. I try to only use my credit card for emergencies or large auto repair bills.

Most always by debit card. I don't have any credit cards, but it is as convenient as a credit card. I pay cash when the delivery boy brings the pizza, so he can have his tip and be on his way in seconds. And I pay cash when the purchase is small enough that I can do it without ruining my stash of bus money cash.
Oh, and of course I pay cash on the bus.
