Yes, but it usually got me in trouble. My mother would disapprove if she was with me, because I should be "seen and not heard." And once a guy wanted to give me a ride, but I ran all the way home. The one time it worked out OK was when I got lost and started to cry, and a lady asked me what was wrong, and I told her. She looked my parents up in the phone book and called them, and my daddy came and got me. I think I was maybe four.

Of course, this was a very long time ago, in small-town Pennsylvania. I would tell kids not to talk to strangers if they are not with Mommy or Daddy, and to take their cue from Mommy or Daddy if they don't want you to talk. As to getting lost, I'd say ask somebody who looks like a grandma to help.

After you talk to them they are no longer strangers. I can't imagine a worse thing to do to a kid than make him afraid of strangers.

Yes but just a hello, my kids are the same, we are very friendly, but i have taught my kids never to REALLY talk to them as there are alot of weirdo's in this world, they understand as a kid nearly got abducted from outside our school a couple of months ago, so they know now! :)

Never, I was too scared of strangers, but I did accept a coin over the fence once, my Dad was really annoyed and threw it hard.

for me it depended on what they looked like, I have to say though that I did talk to more olg guy strangers when I was younger than girl strangers. Old guys just seem more sweet and nice to me espically the one's selling ice cream in the park. (I have a soft part in my heart for them ha ha). Hope that that answered your question

All the time.
My parents told me to be very careful, I was just very outgoing, but I was and still am a black belt in karate so i think they were a little less worried than they would have been with a normal child...
