when i double click on my pendrive,its promting me to choose the programs to open it,can u tell me why?

I want to open my pen drive double clicking on it.

Are you clicking on the drive or on files in the drive.
Normally this message somes up when Windows has no default setting for the file (or device?) and so it presents a list of programs you have on your machine - often on a device it is asking if you want to play the files or look at the files like data. There should be a check box at the bottom to mark if you want your choice to be used on that device all the time. I have had it come up with CD's with collections of sound files and it wants to know whether to open it as folders or with a media player.
