i need a book that gives a real understanding of shakespeares romeo and juliet book. im in year ten (tenth grade 14 yrs old). HELP!

It's the greatest love story ever written. I was lucky, I saw Romeo and Juliet performed at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford. I hope your teacher is planning a group trip if it is being performed.

If not, try to get the DVD's of

Romeo and Juliet by Franco Zefferelli

West Side Story The Musical

and Romeo and Juliet starring Leonardo di Caprio as Romeo.

it's good to try to contrast the styles.

Just read the play! Get "No Fear Shakespeare: Romeo and Juliet" from a library. It has the original text and a modern English version side by side, so it is easy to understand.

I'm in year 11. Just read the play we all had to do it.
And this is most likely going to be your coursework which you have to do yourself.

Not sure of a book although the film 'West side story' is similar.
