I love books like 'The Kite Runner' by Khaled Hossini, 'Lord of the Flies' by William Golding... I'm not really genre specific. Any suggestions?

My favorite read? Man that is a tough question... I think it would be A Gent From Bear Creek by Robert E. Howard (the ceator of Conan...) it is more of a hilarious western than a fantasy, but I have read it 5 or 6 times now, and it still makes me laugh and smile... I have also enjoyed almost everyone of the Forgotten Realms fantasies... there are so many great books out there anymore, it is truly hard to pick a favorite one!

I can't pick a favorite book, but the most interesting one I've read recently is Peony in Love by Lisa See. It is a look at China in the days of foot-binding and unmarried women being unseen until their arranged marriages. Another reason it is so interesting is that 2/3 of the book takes place after the main character's death.

I really like Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. It's not my favorite for literary value necessarily, but it has a good plot and character development.
